M6204 - In Progress

I've had this tunic cut out since early April in preparation for Faye's Spring Month of Tops 15 day challenge in April. When I missed that deadline, I thought I'd sew it up in time for my trip to Texas over Memorial Day weekend. Obviously, I didn't quite make that deadline either but I still wanted to make the top I just have been so super busy I haven't even wanted move off the couch when I find a moment of down time. But what do you know when I came into my sewing room/office tonight to send an e-mail, I thought, "hey, how about I just sew a stitch or two while waiting for the computer to start up" and look already an identifiable silhouette. I can definitely finish this tomorrow if I can figure out how to work my new narrow hem foot bought specifically for this top because I don't think my standard rolled hem for charmeuse will do this top justice.

It's starting to warm up here and I can't wait to wear this!

How cool is that!!!

No sewing going on just a whole lot of "if I had time" but how cool is it that my newphew got drafted in the first round to the Tampa Bay Rays (Major League Baseball) yesterday. His dream come true. I love him to pieces and I'm so proud of him!

M6329 - I heart you

McCall's early Summer offerings are out and this little number is my very favorite. Now I don't have anywhere to wear this dress but I like it so much I am inspired to revisit the search for a good strapless bra (no small feat). There are a couple of others that I like but this is the one that fills my dreams day and night.

Particularly View C.

Maybe I'll make this for Mother's Day.

Bad for me but Great for you or the McCalls 6243 Giveaway!

First, the Bad for Me - I was getting ready to attempt to make a dress for my Valentines Day lunch with my hubby and after going through my patterns decided on McCalls 6243, imagine my horror when I discovered that in my haste during the BMV sale at Christmas time, I had purchased the wrong size !

Now to the Great for you:

I have decided to give the size AA (6,8,10,12) pattern to one of my lucky followers. All you need to do is leave a comment sharing a favorite sewing tip, trick or notion by 11:59 p.m. PST Sunday, February 27th. In case you need inspiration for entering, check out Kim's version here. I will use a random number generator to choose the winner on Monday, February 28th. Good Luck!

B5564 - What I'm working on

I've been trying to steal sewing time while taking care of a very hungry newborn and trying to rebuild my Fall wardrobe. I thought I'd add a few tunics that I can wear with leggings and boots to have a pulled together look that is baby friendly. First up is Butterick 5564.

It is a fast and easy pattern and one should be able to complete it in a day but at the rate I'm going, I may finish it by the end of the week. Here is what I have so far.

I'll work on putting the sleeves in tomorrow.
